International Literacy Day

❝Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope.❞ – Kofi Annan
Since 1967, #InternationalLiteracyDay celebrations have taken place annually on #8September around the world to remind the public at large of the importance of literacy as a matter of #dignity and #humanright. Cambridge observed this day on 8th September 2023 to raise awareness and concern for literacy related problems.
Keeping in mind the theme of the year, “Promoting literacy for a world in transition: Building the foundation for sustainable and peaceful societies”, various activities were taken up by the students of different classes as an opportunity to rethink the importance of literacy to build #resilience and ensure #quality education for all.
The School organised various activities to educate students about World Literacy Day and the importance of being literate. Wonderful efforts were showcased by Kindergarten CTs and students to raise awareness to be a literate.A #postermaking was organised where Grades IV & V students made posters on the #LiteracyMission.
Grades VI  students reflected the importance of literacy through magnificent poems and middle school students prepared slogans and PPT and had a session with #TransportStaff to educate them on #trafficrules.
The purpose of these activities was to help our children and concerned personnel to understand that navigating through the world without being able to read or write is challenging and is a blockade for experiencing so many things.The students were #sensitised about the necessity to literate and lettered. They understood that this leads to personal growth.

Krishna Janmashtami

#Janmashtami was celebrated by the staff and students of #CambridgeKindergarten on Wednesday, 6th September- 2023.
A #splendid and #colourful performances and activities by the Students of Kindergarten were undertaken with a message of victory of good over evil.
The students of KG II conducted a special assembly and communicated the message that “Every moment of life is worth a Celebration.”
Children came dressed in ethnic wear as #Radha and #Krishna. KG I presentations depicted the varied images of life of Krishna through #storyboards, Idol making of Krishna with clay, storytelling, swinging Krishna, use of props for #storytelling, participating in the Dahi Handi activity, and taking selfie with a photo frame with art and craft activities transported the audience to the world of splendour, colour, myth and legend.
Beautiful presentations with joyous melody and twirling dances concluded the ceremony.

National Sports Day

#NationalSportsDay celebrated at #Cambridge
#29August is celebrated as National Sports Day every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of hockey legend #MajorDhyanChandSingh. The day also serves as a reminder for all of us to recall the contributions, determination and extraordinary achievements of the athletes and their influence in #shapingsocieties.
Keeping in view the  theme for this year’s National Sports Day celebration – “Sports are an enabler to an inclusive and fit society,” the #KindergartenWing  celebrated the day on 29th August with great enthusiasm and zeal.
The school organized several activities to inculcate the feeling of #truesportsmanship among the children and to enhance their physical and social skills.
The kindergarten kids did an excellent demonstration of  #physicalexercises ,  #yoga followed  by a #dance with rhythm and coordination that  #crowned their day.
The events were a reminder that Sports have the unique power to bring people together and to develop a robust sports culture among the #youngones.

RakshaBandhan Celebrations

#RakshaBandhan #Celebrations.
“A beautiful bond of #love, #trust and #responsibility forever.”
Raksha Bandhan is a special occasion to celebrate the #eternal and #auspicious bond between brother and sister and the affection of the siblings in the family. The tiny tots of #Kindergarten celebrated this festival with great zeal and endeavor on Monday, 28th August 2023. The main objective behind celebrating #RakshaBandhan was to make the children aware of the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister, which is one of the deepest and noblest of all human emotions.
The young learners participated in tying Rakhi on the wrist of their classmates, Rakhi making and coloring activities to celebrate the occasion.

#CPDCASCADING

In continuation with #Cascading , the workshops for the week were conducted by #MsNehaMahajan and #MsSwati.

The workshop by Ms. Neha focused on #integratedteaching – an approach in education where different subjects or disciplines are combined to create a more #comprehensive and #interconnectedlearning experience. The workshop aimed to enhance #understanding, #criticalthinking and #problemsolvingskills by demonstrating the connections between various areas of knowledge.

The session was #activitybased, which included various activities like storytelling, songs, the topic wheel, etc. to intrigue students towards learning and augmenting their skills.

Workshop by Ms.Swati focussed on types of intelligences that covered –
●Visual/spatial intelligence
●Verbal / linguistic intelligence
●Bodily kinesthetic intelligence
●Musical intelligence
●Logical/mathematical intelligence
●Naturalistic intelligence
● Interpersonal intelligence
●Intrapersonal intelligence.

The workshop focussed on using #multipleintelligence approach in classrooms provides opportunities for learning based on students’ needs, interests and talents.

Independence Day

Salute to this Great Nation !!

The Independence Day has a special place in the heart of every Indian. Not only does it symbolizes the celebration of #wonderfulyears of #freedom but also extends an emphatic message of the #progressive future of our country. The 77th Independence Day of our motherland India, was celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervor by the entire staff and the learners at #Cambridge.

The school decorated with #tricolor- saffron, white and green balloons and flags welcomed the eyes of all to the function.

The little ones paid their respect to the tricolor , conducted art and craft , fancy dress with #patriotictheme and were briefed about the #significance of the day.

#Primarywing students paid tribute to the soldiers of Indian Army by a heart-wrenching performance inspiring every student to join the forces and #servethenation. A #dance performed gracefully enthralled everyone present.

Students with their speeches and quotes took us down the #memorylane when they spoke on the freedom fighters like #MahatmaGandhi, #Nehruji, #BhagatSingh and #SubhashChandraBose who played an important role in IndianIndependence.

The students of #Choir group in their melodious voices sang the Patriotic song- that awakened everyone’s feelings towards the Mother Land.

The celebrations ended with the #NationalAnthem. The event was full of #patriotism and enthusiasm that kindled a sense of love for our country within the children. It also reminded us of the immense sacrifices of those who gave up their lives for the freedom of India.

International Tiger Day

SAVE THE ROAR OF THE JUNGLE!

The #InternationalTigerDay, is an annual celebration to raise #awareness for tiger conservation, held annually on the 29th,July. The celebrations at Cambridge, sensitized students of the Kindergarten Wing about the critical need to protect tigers.The school also organized art and craft activities for middle school students aimed at generating #awareness about the need to #savetigers.Overall, students acknowledged that tigers have a special place on the planet and in our lives and we must do all that we can to protect them.

The students used colourful charts to highlight the #significance of this special day and also shared some interesting facts about the Tiger. Class teachers explained the pivotal role of the tiger in balancing & maintaining the ecosystem.

Fun art activities on Tiger was a small successful step in creating environmentally responsible #global citizens.

Dance Competition-Kindergarten Wing

” DANCE IS THE HIDDEN LANGUAGE OF SOUL”

A #DanceCompetition was organized for Nursery and KG 1 classes of Kindergarten Wing at #Cambridge on Thursday- 20th July – 2023. The students displayed their talent through their splendid performances.

The participants, full of enthusiasm and fervour , showcased their dancing skills through facial expressions and body movements .

The air became alive as the dancers, clad in vibrant and flashy accoutrement, #whirled and #twirled to the #rhythmic beats of melodious, peppy numbers. It was a challenge for the judges to pick out the winners.

Such dance competition in school is not just about the trophies – it is a highly rewarding and worthwhile activity for students of all ages. Irrespective of whether the student aims to be an artist in future or not – a mere dance competition can help to develop various fundamental skills in a child that will be useful in the long term. Such competitions are a great way to build an #emotionalresilience in a child. It increases #selfconfidence and #selfesteem in children.

Dexterous Fingers

#Dexterousfingers #Cambridge

#Fingerdexterity is the ability to move fingers exactly as one want to, at the right time, to the right place, and without straining or putting them under too much stress.

Cambridge conducted the #dexterousfingersactivity for grades I to VII on 19th July – 2023 that involved developing
fine motor skills , hand-eye coordination to help students of all ages to perform better in certain school assignments.

Regardless of ability, the school designed activities and games that focussed on #dexterity and #finemotorskills that are important because they help students increase the muscles in their fingers, hands and wrists, while also increasing coordination. The Class Educators prepared the task that involved student participation in activities like – #paperfoldingcraft, #housemaking, #3Dstructures with matchbox, #claywork, #jewellerycraft, #papercraft to name a few.
