Animal Antics-Racing to Learn and Grow!
“A child who loves animals is an adult who has compassion for people.”
Instilling healthy competition in the formative years is vital for all-around development. On September 20, 2024, the toddlers were brought out of their comfort zones for a fun-filled animal race activity.
Beautiful, animated, and attractive masks of elephants, buffaloes, leopards, lions, and more were used by the students for the activity. The children wore masks of their choice and were taken to the school playground for this fun-filled experience. It was a pleasant sight to see the little ones running enthusiastically with their masks on the track field to reach their goals.
Such movement activities are crucial for developing minds and bodies. Animal movements, in particular, encourage children to think about their own body mechanics in comparison to the animals they may have observed. The children were asked to think about the ways animals move; then it was—on your marks, get set, go!
The environment reverberated with animal sounds and songs. The aim of the activity was to demonstrate the use of different senses to guide movements while enhancing physical health and fostering motor development.
